VuMATRIX Installation
IMPORTANT
For Best Performances and 4K resolutions
Use MANAGED LAYER-2 NETWORK Switches
Login to your network switch web management and check:
- SWITCHING > PORTS > PORT CONFIGURATION > FRAME SIZE > SET 9000 VALUE.
DO THIS FOR ALL THE PORTS OF THE SWITCH YOU CONNECT THE VUMATRIX UNITS
find the FRAME SIZE setting on your switch manual. - MULTICAST TRAFFIC is enabled ( if any setting )
- IGMP Snooping: Must be enabled
- IGMP Snooping Fast-leave: Enable (if available).
- IGMP Version: Set to IGMP Version 2 if possible.
- IGMP Query: Must be enabled.
- Jumbo Frames: Enable and set to 9000.
- Filter / Drop Unregistered Multicast Traffic: Must be enabled (if available).
- Unregistered Multicast Flooding: Must be disabled (if available).
Using a generic unmanaged switch might work too
however the performances might be reduced
because the switch cannot handle the real time video transmission.
IF video works using a cat6 direct from the transmitter to the receiver (no switch)
but the video does not work via your switch
this means your switch is blocking the multicast traffic or the packets.
Try resetting your switch to factory and enable the above parameters.
Make sure your switch can support 4k streaming.
Change the switch to a Layer-2 one gigabit port type.
